Need linear supply 3.3V/15A or 5V/25A
Hello Folks, For an experiment a client needs a 3.3V/15A or larger supply, must be linear. Checked the usual suspects and at 10A there's pretty much the end of the rope these days. 5V/25A could be useful if I can get in there and hack it, should have enough SOA to deliver 3.3V/15A. Does anyone know where to get one? Can be used/salvaged as long as it... more »

WRX File
My wife has a WRX file, a training session from Girl Scouts :-( I can't get it to play but then, again, I have neutered Windows so that I don't have the latest Internet Explorer "updates"... I use Firefox exclusively. Is there a free player somewhere I can download? Thanks! ...Jim Thompson... more »

Transient Voltage Suppressor diodes question
Hallo to all, About ten days i posted a question how to protect a 1 Volt sensor from a 100 Volt peak for about 0.2 sec/ 20 mAmp. Some people suggested a Transient Voltage Suppressor. As I was reading the specs of TVS i realised that brake down voltage is only 10-20% from the stand off or operating Voltage. Not 100 times more. I... more »

What is a good "standard" force for a momentary push-button?
Title says it all. I'm trying to find information about what is a good range for the force needed to activate a momentary push-button switch. My application is to build a custom "d-pad" style array like you might find on a video game controller or personal electronics. But I'd also appreciate any links to empirical studies or published... more »

Microcurrent plasma tube
What is the lowest power option to ionize a very small plasma tube? IOW I want to ignite (pulse) a small tube in a 4 x "AA" battery powered device, at the appropriate voltage, at around 100Hz. The duty cycle of the waveform can be shorted to conserve battery life, if required. What type of off-the-shelf... more »

7805 regulator input voltage confusion ??
hi, just looking up some specs on the 7805 regulator , one site says a max of 35vdc input and this says 25vdc max input ([link]) ,,,,,, i`m pretty sure the max is 35vdc ? what is correct ? also i have nearly finished building a fixed and adj power supply all in... more »

Your opinion on bad sound
I like to go clubbing. I've noticed that sometimes the sound quality is terrible. Distortion like clipping due to using underpowered amps. I've also noticed that after a night out at these places I get a bad ringing that lasts for weeks, and it's not just my regular tinnitus, it's new tones and a weird screeching sound when I listen to everyday... more »

Bipolar +/- 30 V 1 A 1 kHz sine wave amplifier - op amp, voltage controlled power supply, or ??
I need to amplify a sine wave (0.05 to 1 kHz) to +/- 30 Volts at 1 Amp. The output voltage needs to be adjustable and can be accomplished by varying the input amplitude or circuit gain. I've considered using an op amp such as the OPA548 but am wondering if there is a bipolar power supply capable of external voltage control... more »
