Not necessarily. Religion can promise something in this life. The
problem is that too many followers might make for the exits when the
time comes but what was offered isn't forthcoming. Promising something
in the next life is safer since it's more difficult to prove wrong.

I loved that movie, partly because I saw it before I'd heard of it and
had no expectations walking in.

It certainly gave me appreciation for the little white lie and the
